Planning a trip to Sanur Bali and haven’t decided where to stay in Sanur? Sanur is one of the best places to stay in Bali. It’s one of the smaller, quieter towns and has many options for accommodation in Sanur.
We’ve been to Bali a ton of times over 20-odd years and Sanur quickly became our favourite in the past 10 years. In fact, we are planning to move to Bali in Sanur as ex-pats once we have finished driving around Australia and as I mention here.
In this post, we’ll cover some of the best hotels Sanur along with other types of Sanur accommodation so you can decide the area where you want to stay in Sanur and the type of accommodation. Also, some Pros and Cons of the properties too.
We’ll include luxury accommodation through to cheap accommodation in Sanur.
Be sure and ask any questions below in the comments and we will help you further.

Bali Accommodation in Sanur
Once you start your research you may find there are two distinct areas and places to stay in Sanur. Locals and tourists alike talk about staying in either the southern end of Sanur or the northern end of Sanur.
Debates even take place on which area is the “best” in Sanur, North or South? Like most things in life, it depends on your perspective, likes and dislikes and what you want from your next holiday or vacation in your search for the best hotels in Sanur Bali.
Then there is also the option of beachside Sanur or not. Beachside meaning the area between the By-pass Road and Sanur Beach. You’ll find a concentration of Bali Villas on the western side of the By-pass should you require a villa in Sanur.
That said there are plenty of villas in Sanur on the eastern side and beachside of Sanur too.
Where To Stay In Sanur: Sanur Hotels
Sanur Bali hotels are dotted along the coast of Sanur for that ultimate beach holiday. You will also find hotels along the three main Jalan’s (streets) Jl. Danau Tamblingam, Jl. Danau Poso, or Jl. Cemara.
Plus down the many gangs (alleys) you’ll also find a Sanur Bali Hotel or two, together with Villas, Guesthouses, Homestays and Hostels.
Most of the accommodation in Sanur and eateries in Sanur have free Wifi.

what a great list of where to stay in Sanur, the pros and the cons of each different accommodation is fantastic – never been to Bali before but sure would love to 🙂
Thanks Lisa, hope to see you in Sanur one day 🙂
I have to admit I do like a bit of luxury if I am going to destinations like this, with sun, sea and sand. I haven’t been to Bali yet but I know I probably be splashing the cash when I do for me and my family. For me it has to be the Kamuela Sanur or the Fairmont. I like a good pool to dip into after doing an all day beach tanning session (or getting buried under the sand by my young daughters) and dipping in the sea.
Both are great properties and have fabulous pools, especially the Fairmont. Hopefully, you make it to Bali soon!
This is a good comprehensive list of places to stay in Sanur. Good that you have covered a wide range of hotels at different budgets. My first cut is always to make sure I am beachside. And I must admit to liking a little luxury. Good to know there are some brand hotels. And some boutique options too.
I’m with you Linda, don’t mind a bit of luxury and always stay beachside, otherwise what’s the point of being so close and not beachside 🙂
I like the idea of staying in a quieter place. What is the average price for a five-star hotel in Sanur?
Average price is anywhere from $100-200 per night for a 5 star hotel or resort. The price will vary according to seasons.
Great selection of accommodations and I appreciate that you’ve included a variety of ranges too as well as pros and cons for each. I’ve heard such great things about Bali and hope to go one day soon! When the time comes, this list will come in handy!
Glad you found it of help Lara. See you in Bali 😉
Wow, these all look absolutely amazing. I think I’d love to stay at one of the beach villas, they seem the nicest to me! Hopefully I’ll make it to Bali one day. It seems so lovely! Thank you for sharing. 🙂
The beach villas are amazing, hopefully we’ll see you on the beaches of Bali one day!
I’m heading to Bali in a little over a month and Sanur looks amazing! All these places to stay are so beautiful, but you can’t really go wrong in Bali.
Sanur is amazing! We are heading back to Bali in a month too, to Sanur of course. Where are you heading?
What a comprehensive list. Everyone could find a place to stay that suits their budget and preferences. I just love Bali so figure I had better return and try a few of these places out! You’ ve got me in the Bali mood!
Thanks Alison. Sounds like its time to book a ticket!
I seek out luxury accommodations when I travel and prefer smaller boutique hotels. So I think Kamuela Samur would be my pick. Great guide for anyone planning a trip there !
Thanks Renee, excellent choice.
Wow, this was a very thorough and extensive list! I love how you point out all the pros and cons of each accommodation. The Sanur Guest House caught my attention since it’s near shops with reasonable prices. I also like that the wifi is good 🙂 I usually have to work when I am traveling so that is a huge plus for me.
It does look good doesn’t it? Plus, as you say in a great location and also excellent value.
We spent two and a half months in Bali, but unfortunately didn’t get to make it to Sanur. This is a nice list of accommodations, though. I think I would probably lean towards the more affordable guest houses.
Thanks Astrid. Such a shame you didn’t make it to Sanur. I hope you were able to see other parts of Bali on the east and north coast. Some spectacular scenery and great things to see and do.
