Things To Do In Bali
Instead of wondering what to do in Bali once you get there, you can use this time to dream and plan your Bali activities. You could take a Bali tour package or you can do what we do and recommend is hire your own Bali private driver for your Bali tour.
Here are a few suggestions from travel bloggers.
Hidden Canyon Tour Bali

Thanks to Jackie Szeto & Justin Huynh at Life of Doing
Adventure seekers will love the adrenaline-filled activities available in Bali. One of the activities that you must try is canyoning at Hidden Canyon (also known as Hidden Canyon Beji Guwang). Located in the Sukawati area of south Bali, this experience takes you to the depths of the jungle and into three secret canyons.
You may think that canyoning involves rappelling down the side of the cliff, but this place is only walking through the waters. Therefore, it’s suitable for all ages; although, we recommend that you’re able to walk for at least two hours without any issues.
All visitors must have a guide to help navigate through the canyon and for safety. Your guide will also be your photographer and document your exhilarating experience with your camera or phone. He/she will have a dry bag to protect your photography equipment. While canyoning is safe to do, water levels vary. You’ll walk through ankle-deep up to waist-high waters. During the rainy season, the water levels are even higher. As long as you follow the footsteps of your guide, you’re in good hands.
What is incredible about this experience is how serene and quiet the canyons are. Since this place is not along the main touristy path, you can have the canyons all to yourself.
To get to Hidden Canyon, hire a driver, take a taxi, or ride a motorbike. It’s a 30 minutes ride from Ubud or 45 minutes from Kuta, so this place is doable as a day trip.

Day Trip To Beaches in Uluwatu

Thanks to Carryn Beard at Torn Tackies
Towering cliffs, soft white sand, crystal clear waters and gorgeous sunsets make Uluwatu one of the best places to visit in Bali. The world-class waves attract surfers in their numbers but this gem, situated in the Bukit Peninsula, is the perfect day trip for adventurous travellers in Bali looking to hit the beaches, soak up the sun and explore a less crowded part of the island.
When planning your day trip, it’s best to organize a driver for the day as you’ll be moving around a lot and sipping on a few ice-cold Bintangs along the way!
Start your morning by exploring the best beaches in Uluwatu including Balangan Beach which has an awesome beginner wave if you’re learning how to surf.
Next, head to Bingin Beach, one of the most picturesque beaches you’ll find in Bali! Sit back, relax and enjoy a freshly prepared meal right on the water’s edge before heading to Karang Boma Cliff, the furthest (and highest) point in Uluwatu, for awesome views of the stunning coastline.
While you’re there, check out Nyang Nyang Beach, my favourite beach to escape the crowds. It does involve a strenuous trek to and from the top of the cliff but if you make the effort to reach the sandy shores, you’ll be rewarded with the beautiful beach all to yourself!
Another must-see is Suluban Beach which is arguably the best sunset spot on the entire island! Splash around in the rock pools and explore the rugged coastline before taking in the epic sunset from Single Fin or one of the many cliff-side warungs. Alternatively, end your day off at the Uluwatu Temple and watch the traditional Kecak Fire and Dance show which takes place at the gorgeous temple sitting on the cliff’s edge.
Day Trip To Jatiluwih Ricefields, Leke Leke Waterfall & NungNung Waterfall
Thanks to Ilse at Digital Travel Couple
A beautiful day trip in Bali is exploring the famous Jatiluwih rice fields and nearby waterfalls. Bali’s inland is blessed with amazing views of the mountain range and lush rice fields. Because of all the mountains and height differences, there are many waterfalls to explore in this area. For this day trip, it is best to start early. Catching the sunrise at the Jatiluwih rice fields is an absolutely beautiful sight, but check the weather forecast upfront. If it’s a clear morning, you can see Mount Agung and Mount Batur in the distance.
Stop 1: Jatiluwih rice fields

Depart as early as possible to Jatiluwih rice fields and enjoy the serene surroundings. You can explore the beautiful rice terraces of Jatiluwih in different ways. If you’re short in time, overlook the rice terraces from the viewpoint and admire the views on the mountains. But if you have some hours left, you can hike through the rice fields to explore different parts of the rice terraces.
The entrance fee for Jatiluwih is 40,000 IDR per person and the parking fee is 5,000 IDR.
Stop 2: Leke Leke waterfall

After exploring the Jatiluwih rice fields, it’s time to cool off at a waterfall. You will find Leke Leke waterfall only a 30-minute drive east from Jatiluwih. It is a beautiful hidden waterfall with a narrow stream of water flowing into a small and shallow pool of water. Surrounded by green and lush forestation, you feel like you’ve entered a scene from a jungle film. The scenic 15-minute jungle trail down to the fall is well maintained with steps cut into the ground. The entrance fee is 50,000 IDR per person.
Stop 3: NungNung waterfall

The last stop of this day trip is NungNung waterfall, another 30-minute drive east from Leke Leke waterfall. NungNung is an awe-inspiring and powerful waterfall of 50 metres high. You can swim in the pool, but be careful with the power of the water. The entrance fee for NungNung Waterfall is 10.000 IDR, and the 2.000 IDR parking fee for your motorbike.
Munduk Waterfalls and Selfie Spots

Thanks to James at The Travel Scribes
What it lacks in bustle and smoothie bowl shops, the sleepy hillside town of Munduk makes up for some of the most magnificent waterfalls, hikes and nearby selfie spots. This Bali gem of a town is located in the centre of the island, nestled amongst rolling hills that will give your moped a run for its money, making Munduk a place best visited by car.
While just hiking in the hills is a great attraction, one of the best things to do in Munduk is to walk the waterfall circuit. Unlike famous falls like Sekumpul, the Munduk waterfalls of Golden Valley, Red Coral, Labuhan Kebo, and Melanting are relatively quiet and do not attract the crowds of tourists you would expect. You can also walk all of them on a short circuit, making this an amazing, adventurous trip on the island.

Munduk is also actually home to the infamous Wanagiri Hidden Hills, the most renowned ‘selfie park’ in Bali, where you’ll find many an Instagrammable swing, oversized bird nest, or even a large wooden boat overlooking the glittering Twin Lakes. The lakes themselves are a key spot to visit on your day trip.
One large body of water, the lake, was initially separated around 1800 by a massive landslide that cut it in half. The lakes, Buyan and Tamblingan, are also part of a caldera made by the Bedugul volcano, so if you head up to the viewpoint,, you’ll be standing on the rim of an extinct volcano!
